Welcome! University Congregational is a progressive and inclusive (or affirming) church located in Northeast Wichita. We are a covenant congregation that values freedom of expression. 

Our Christian faith centers on love, inclusiveness, justice and interpretation of the Bible, for its enduring wisdom for modern circumstances. UCC values:

The sacred worth of every person. We believe all people, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic standing are loved by God.

Biblical interpretation for our time. We believe the Bible is sacred and inspired by God, but we also read it in its historical and cultural contexts. We seek its inherent wisdom and allow for symbolic and metaphorical truths.

Pursuit of justice. We are guided by the teachings of Jesus who ministered to poor, oppressed and marginalized peoples and challenged systemic injustices.

Individual freedom to express and challenge our faith. We believe doubt and curiosity are part of our spiritual journey. We are free to learn and interpret scripture within the context of our personal life experiences.

We believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the Sacred and the Oneness and Unity of all life.
